Impact Report 2024

We believe that exceptional coffee should create positive change at every step of its journey. From the farms where our beans are grown to the communities we serve in the South West; we're committed to making choices that benefit both people and planet.

Traceable Coffee From Farm To Cup

We believe in knowing exactly where our coffee comes from. Every single-origin coffee we source can be traced back to its farm of origin, ensuring transparency and accountability throughout our supply chain. This commitment to traceability means we can guarantee that every bean meets our strict ethical standards and that we're not inadvertently supporting poor farming practices.

Supporting Coffee-Growing Communities

We source our coffee from small independent coffee farmers like Cafe Granja La Esperanza farm in Colombia and the Kinini washing station in Rwanda. Our Rwandan partnership not only brings you exceptional coffee but also supports the local farming community. In the last 12 months we bought over 300kg of green coffee from these producers, who in turn supported the building and running of schools and health outposts within the community. By buying coffee from these co-operatives that support grass-root initiatives, we're helping to improve lives at origin and promote sustainable agriculture in the region and around the world.

The Climate Crisis

The coffee industry faces a threat from climate change, with research suggesting that up to 50% of the world's coffee-growing land could become unsuitable by the end of this century. To mitigate our coffee’s effect on the planet we’ve started shipping some of our coffee by zero emission sail ships from South America - which you can buy in our Nespresso-compatible recyclable pods. In fact, by June 2026 all packaging across our product range will be fully recyclable. And we’re continuously implementing impact minimisation strategies throughout our roasting and fulfilment processes.

Local Community Initiatives

Our commitment to positive impact extends to our home in Somerset. We're proud to support local community initiatives, providing coffee to vital social projects such as 'Young Somerset' and the YMCA group in Taunton and 'Sweet Surprise' in Ilminster. Our coffee grinds and chaff are regularly collected by local gardening groups to improve soil quality, and have also been part of a trial mushroom-growing project. And our coffee sacks are available for free to groups including local colleges for design projects.

How Would You Like Us To Improve?

As we continue to grow, our commitment to positive impact grows with us. We're constantly exploring new ways to improve our practices, support our partners, and protect our environment. We invite you to join us on this journey towards a more sustainable and equitable future by emailing info@braziercoffeeroasters.co.uk with the changes you’d like to see us make.
